I'm overwhelmed by the response I've been getting to my recently published book "A Raven in My Heart: Reflections of a Bookseller." There's a lot of work to do to publicize the book now but I'm working on it.
I think forming Gracespring Collective was the best thing any of us (Deanna Kawatski, Alex Forbes, and Caroline Woodward) did in the last year and a half. Four brains are definitely better than one! I love those guys.

I think we got things in reverse this time. Apparently you are thanking me for something I haven't done yet (well, we both know I have but everyone else doesn't).
ReplyDeleteWhat I mostly said in my comment was how I admired and respected you and after reading the book this admiration and respect was greatly enhanced.
I was also humbled by the experience of working with you on the book and it was a good humbling. My knowledge was expanded greatly in the experience and I find great comfort in that.

ReplyDeleteWriting the book, publishing it through Gracesprings Collective, working closely with you and the gang at Hucul Printing in Salmon Arm has been an amazing experience. Every aspect of book production was done locally and I feel really good about that.
Even commissioning local Salmon Arm artist Lee Rawn to paint the cover painting makes me happy. And look at the cover! Is that not a gorgeous painting? It hangs in my living room, where I can admire it every day.
That raven has character!
Loved your book. Found I could relate to your experiences a great deal. I find I relate to animals a lot more than people. Have recently moved from living in the forrest in Australia for the last 20 years closer to town, a big change.
